My First Solo Ad Experience.

By | August 27, 2013

Solo AdsIt has been over a week since my last post because I took a quick break to France while I had a little time off with the kids, we all went camping and had a great time.  I must consider this next time I go away as there was one thing missing ‘INTERNET’, unfortunately, there was no wifi where we stayed so I had to go ‘cold turkey’ for 10 days, although it was refreshing to not be in front of my laptop for most of the day, I did miss a few things I normally check on a daily basis.

One thing I did set up before I went away was a Solo Ad, I had never used solo ads before as I have heard a lot of bad press about them where marketers have purchased clicks and clicks was about all they had got, I believe what some unscrupulous providers do is have some kind of bot that just registers clicks on your link which looks like they are sending real traffic.  Anyhow, I looked around and found a provider I was happy with and connected with him on Skype, we agreed on a deal where for $100 he would send me 300 clicks.  When I got back from my trip I checked my stats for the solo ad which is as follows: I received 351 clicks and got 100 sign ups to the offer which is around 28.5% and no immediate sales, I did not expect any but it would have been nice.

I believe that 28.5% is not a good figure going by the average so I don’t think I will be using this provider again any time soon, unless in a couple of weeks some sales start to come through, I have tracked this solo ad so I will know where any sales come from.  So now I will have a search around for a new supplier.

Time now to get back active in the forums and the communities and to catch up on what I’ve been missing while I have been away, I know I have at least one webinar to watch.

    Hey John,

an interesting account of your first solo experience. Just a couple of things to point out if I can. Firstly, I think you meant to say “UNscrupulous” in the second paragraph.

Mainly what I wanted to point out is that you seem to be putting all blame for your perceived under-performance on the quality of the clicks!

It could be several other things that have caused the poor response.

Have a go at tweaking your headline, your squeeze page page layout or your copy. About 30% is not a terrible starting point – it’s quite common in fact. But it does show there’s room for improvement. I’d be interested to see the squeeze if you want to either PM or email me the link.

Either way, an interesting experience for you. An $100 for 351 clicks is pretty good for starters 🙂

    All the best matey,

    Hi Paul,

Thank you for your comment and for correcting my error 🙂

The squeeze page and copy I was using was from Dean Holland and has already been tweeked and tested (,that’s why I was blaming the quality of the clicks, other people seem to be getting around 40% to 50% so was a little disappointed with 28.5% however, I agree with the value I got from the purchase, I ordered 300 so got a good over delivery. I have found some different suppliers now and plan to give them a try by the weekend, I will let you know how I get on.

    Thanks again

    Best Regards

Iam new to Ipro and have gone thru Dean Holland Ipro modules but I am having a very difficult time getting my squeeze page set up. Is anyone A Ble to walk me thru it. I have listened and watched and taken notes on his traffic moduels but iam unable to get my ad to work. What am I doing wrong.
I go to referal parterner rezource page. When I click on the ad I want use I get deans ad to come up but I can’t save it or put anything on it like my tracking link. I can go down to create ad and enter the info into thr drop boxes it will save it but then again wben I go to the bottom to generate link it will not let me paste it on to my ad.
Thank you for any input. I know I can do this if I can get over this small delima.
