Getting busy with solo ads and the results.

By | September 8, 2013

Solo AdsSeeing that I have only used one solo ad I thought about running some more and recording the results (which of course we must do!) So over the last six days I have been setting up a few more solo ads to the iPro Partner campaign sending leads through to what we call the App Funnel (If you would like to learn more about the iPro Partner Program <<=== Click Here).

Being in the Internet Marketing niche for nearly two years now and being a member of various mastermind groups I’ve gotten to know a few people, so when searching for solo ad providers I like to read the testimonial page to see if I recognise anyone who has used the provider and get a rough idea of their results.  I found 3 providers who have been used by people I know and 2 others who were actually recommended by 2 of the 3 providers.

Some of the results I had gotten I was really happy with and at the other end of the scale one was pretty darn dismal and from a provider highly recommended too, and oddly enough, the provider that he had recommended, knocked it out of the park in my opinion!                                                                                                                                                                                        CPO = Cost Per Optin

I don’t know why, when I place a solo ad, I get excited, whether it’s the potential of me building my business or maybe it’s the thought of new leads going through the funnel potentially soon, one day they too will be running their own profitable business…  Im sure its the former lol.

So, above is an image of my results, Provider A was my first solo ad which took place over a week ago now.  The rest of the providers were the solos that took place this week, the clear winner going out to Provider E for a 65% optin rate, I am really happy with those stats and was the guy recommended by Provider E, his original stats was 104 clicks with only 18 optins so there was clearly something wrong there, I contact the Provider who was also quite shocked as to what had happened, he then sent me some more clicks to make up for the poor performance and got another 21 optins totalling 39, still only a 24 % optin rate so I doubt whether I will use that provider again unless I get some conversions from the prospects I did get.

I am also pleased with the rest of the providers on the initial ‘test run’ and am happy to increase the next orders accordingly, I will still run some more tests with new solo ads in a couple of weeks so I can gather a solid list of safe providers.

Right now I am pondering with running some Facebook Ads, I am in two minds at the moment as I haven’t had much experience with them, I know there is a knew product out at the moment called FB Ads Cracked from the guru of FB ads Don Wilson, so that might be a wise purchase depending on price?!?

Thank you for reading my blog and I will get back to you all soon

Good Luck

John.

Nice report John. Very good that you’re keeping track with your solo ads as that will definitely give you some concrete advice on who to use to scale up. That’s if you so choose to do that. Keep up the great work and just know that it may take a little bit before they turn over in to sales.

      Hi Jerry,

Thank you for your comment, I would like to scale up my solo ads, I’d like to get a consistent stream of leads every month going into the funnel without overspending which is easier said than done, lol. I realise It might be a couple of months before I see the fruits of my labour. I’m looking forward to my first sale though 🙂

      Best regards,

      John.

Hi John! I’m just getting started as of this weekend, so I’m interested to follow what you’re doing. Never placed a solo ad until yesterday — I chose 3 different providers. The ads haven’t run yet, but I hope my results are as good as yours are.

I, too, have 1 FB ad running on a tiny budget (right sidebar, not in a newsfeed). Really just wanted to test it out. So far the click-through rate is 0.195%. I’ll try a newsfeed ad at some point, but I don’t have a FB page set up for this business and don’t want to use my personal one!

    Good luck to you.

      Hey Mary,

Thank you for your response, my first solo ad produced a 28% optin rate which I thought was poor, however, I have since been informed that the 28% and above mark is about right, hopefully you will get similar results to me, don’t be too disappointed if you don’t as there are plenty of providers out there with good lists, just make sure you read their testimonials and make sure they are providing you with unique clicks and not raw clicks and you should be ok.

Good luck with your FB ads, as long as you have set yourself a budget you’ll be fine, just test and tweek and record your results 🙂

Best of luck to you Mary!

    Hey John,

Your overall opt in rate is great, obviously using the right solo ad providers that are bring in the right traffic to the offer. If the sales funnel is as good as we are told, then you should start seeing sales soon. Most serious prospects buy after seven exposures. Very few buy on the first exposure unless there is a great sense of urgency, like buy this now at $17 because tomorrow it will be $49.

I also see that you are considering FB ads. I have not run any, but I have heard plenty of horror stories. If you decide to run FB ads, do only enough to get your feet wet, not your wallet. If I had opt in rates as good as yours, I would definitely stick with solo ads!

      Hey Michel,

Thank you for your advice on the FB ads, I have used them very little to entice fans to a FB page, however, I am going to look for a wso I purchased a while back about getting 0.01c clicks and will try to use that in my campaign if I can, also, everyone is raving about Don Wilson’s new product which may be worth a read. I will certainly write about my reports if and when I go ahead.

      Good luck to you Michel

      Best regards

    Hey John,

That’s a pretty successful test run, if you ask me 🙂 It’s good that you were able to get a few more opt-ins via the ad you ran through the disappointing seller.

It’s good that you’re analysing and keeping track of all your buys and their results right from day one. This will help you to get a good picture of what’s working, what isn’t and where you can think about concentrating your efforts. I find the link tracker inside our referral centre to be very informative in this regard, I’ve been seeing some very interesting stuff.

Facebook is something that I’ve kind of shied away from in the past, but I think that it’s something that I really need to learn more about. I got hold of a course recently and am currently working through it, so hopefully I’ll be able to experiment a little with Facebook shortly once I actually have an idea of what the heck I’m doing! lol

Keep up the great work, John, you’re off to a flying start! 🙂

    Regards,
    Glenn

      Hi Glenn,

      Thank you for your comment.

I am really happy with my results, and I’m glad I spoke to the solo provider about the poor optin rate as he was happy that I’d pointed out a problem.

I agree with you about the link tracker, it really helps to know what your stats are and who is sending you the best traffic. Although one provider might send a good amount of options it may be the provider with more expensive cost per optins that will send you the quality of traffic that converts into sales, and without that knowledge, we would never know!

I look forward to hearing your results when you get a Facebook ad campaign under way, it would be good if we could all compare results and learn from each other what is working and what needs tweaking.

      Thanks for your encouragement

      Best regards

      John.

    Hi John

Great information, I have just done my first solo to this funnel, so will see how it goes, due to go out today so fingers crossed!

I am also going to give adswaps a go, not something that I have done before but will see how it works out for me.

    Good luck with your business

      Hi Julie,

      Thank you for stopping by.

Good luck with your solo ad, things are really going well for me with solos, in fact it’s pretty much the only method I use to get leads into the funnel, I have my select few providers then every now and then I try someone new and see how they perform against the rest.

Its always a good idea to make a note of all the results you get with your solo providers so you know which ones to keep and which ones to drop.

      Best of luck

      Kind regards

      John.
